Tips for Cleaning Your Upholstered Furniture

Keeping your upholstered furniture clean can be almost impossible, especially if you have children or pets. But, there’s some simple ways to make the job easier!

Stains and spills should always be cleaned immediately. If left to sit the stain will adhere to the upholstery and be harder and maybe impossible to remove later.

Carefully remove as much of the stain as you can without rubbing it into the upholstery. Using a soft cloth to blot the stain will remove a lot of it and prevent it from soaking into the fabric.

If you clean the stain quickly, most of the time a gentle soap and warm water will do the trick. But, a set in stain or a harsher stain may require a little upholstery or spot cleaner.

You should never soak your upholstery with anything as it can leave water rings. But, if it’s a stubborn stain, you may have no choice but to apply some spot remover and let it sit a few minutes to loosen up the stain!
