• Use a good quality steel tape measure, and measure in cm (round up to the nearest 1/2 cm).
• Always double check your measurements, or ask someone to check them for you just to make sure they are accurate before you order your blinds.
• Inside Recess – if you are fixing your blind to the inside recess then you will need to measure the narrowest point on the window and the length down to the sill, to ensure your blind covers the window but can hang freely. Also note down which side you would like the cord to hang (it may be difficult to reach in some cases on one particular side).
• Outside Recess – if you are hanging your blind on the outside recess you will need to measure the width of the window (allow an overlap of around 5cm) and also the complete drop (again allow a 5cm overlap). The overlap will ensure the window is completely covered when the blind is down. Again make sure you note which side you would like the cord hung.
