Warm the cockles of your heart with a winter proofed bathroom with just a few simple changes to help you survive the upcoming months;
Invest in a bath
Add a relaxing bath for those cold weekends that are approaching. BestBathrooms.com offers freestanding, corner and whirlpool styles, so there’s the right size tub waiting for you.
Add a heated towel rail
Take the chill off the room with a heated towel rail, with the option of designer, traditional, ladder style, bar on bar and electric you’re bound to find your dream rail to warm through your towels.
Fight the mould
Mould is caused by damp, condensation and bad ventilation and can be prevented by fitting an extractor fan, re-painting with anti-fungicidal paint or using mould killer spray, along with airing the bathroom; all contributing to help ensure your bathroom stays fresh as a daisy!
Under floor heating
This will help to keep your feet toasty when jumping from the shower to the heated towel warmer. Help make the journey less brutal with this touch of luxury to make your feet feel pleasant.
Robe hooks
The simplest one of all is to fit a hook to the door for your dressing gown to be at hand after a relaxing shower!
Leaking Taps
Repair leaking taps to help save water and create a relaxing sanctuary. This is easy to do; all you will need is a replacement washer, screwdriver and pliers.
Firstly turn off the water supply and put the plug in the plug hole so you don’t lose anything. Remove the cap on the tap (either the hot or the cold depending which one is dripping). This can be released with your fingers and a screwdriver. Now you can see the screw, unscrew it to expose the headgear nut. Pull of the handle then remove the head gear from the tap body with a spanner turning anticlockwise. Remove the jumper and you will see a small nut, unscrew it using pliers and remove the old washer, replacing it with a new one. Then simply put the nut back on and reassemble the tap.
These small changes can make all the difference to your bathroom experience, so get your DIY hat on and get those jobs done!

Ever since Thomas Crapper invented the flushing toilet in 1891, bathroom suites have taken giant leaps forward in interior design. The bathroom usually occupies a prominent place in the home, and not only for its basic functionalities. Since before Roman times, the therapeutic benefits of the ‘little room’ were widely recognized.
Many of the variations and uses of water and steam can now be coordinated into houses with even the smallest of spaces. Multi cabinets are now available on the market that have various appliances built into them, many of which can fit upright in a corner. You can have water rejuvenating your body from almost any angle, steam yourself to a bright crimson or sit back and relax in dry heat.
Many statistics place the bathroom in the top 5 main features of a house with regard to prospective purchase. Sensible investment in this area, according to many realtors, can make the difference in swinging a sale. Whilst old Thomas didn’t get a knighthood for his genius, he set the foundations for the modern bathroom of today.
Lots of bathroom accessories are now available including bathroom enclosures, suites, designer basins, seats, screens and mirrors etc. which can add lots of style to your home and considerably increase its value. So bathrooms should be near the top of your list when planning your home.
